The Counties Manukau 17s Stingrays, which has now changed to the 18s Stingrays, compete in the National Youth Tournament in Rotorua each year. 

The National Youth Tournament is a five-day event where the most talented players from across New Zealand compete for the honours of a National title. The 17s Stingrays have made multiple Grand Final appearances and won the National title 3 times in 2010, 2013 & 2017. 

The National Youth tournament has been a platform for many 17s Stingrays to enter into the NZRL 18s Merit Squad, which gains them an invitation to the Kiwis Performance Camps, where they trial for the New Zealand 18s Residents. 

The National Youth Tournament the 17s Stingrays compete in is an excellent platform for players to showcase their talent in front of several NRL Clubs, where the majority go onto more significant opportunities in the world of Rugby League. 

In 2021, the 17s National Youth Tournament Competition changed to 18s.
